Temos uma rede de aproximadamente dois mil clientes na sua grande maioria postos de combustíveis - alguns únicos e outros em rede. Em todos os clientes temos um sistema ERP e um sistema de caixas, linguagens utilizadas Delphi e C# respectivamente.

Nossos bancos de dados têm cerca de 240 tabelas no ERP e 150 no sistema de caixa; as maiores bases contêm aproximadamente 20 GB. Todo o movimento do caixa é replicado automaticamente no ERP, gerando um grande número de atualizações no banco de dados principal.

Utilizamos principalmente o FBScanner com a finalidade de capturar as queries geradas pelos sistemas; com isso conseguimos identificar com exatidão as causas de muitos problemas e assim atuar de forma precisa e eficiente. Antes da utilização do FBScanner isso só seria possível com a ajuda dos programadores, ficando assim pelo menos duas pessoas envolvidas no mesmo problema.

No departamento de suporte temos algumas máquinas com o FBScanner instalado a fim de agilizar ainda mais o processo. Nos nossos clientes instalamos o FBDataGuard com objetivo de automatizar os backups - uma ferramenta muito útil, e que tem nos ajudado a prevenir problemas na integridade e estrutura de dados.

A utilização das ferramentas FBScanner e FBDataGuard tem facilitado o nosso processo de backup e manutenção; posso dizer que as ferramentas tornam nossa atividade mais efetiva na detecção, prevenção e solução dos problemas.

Pcounter Europe approached IBSurgeon to review current database structure in a graphical reporting product, to identify performance bottlenecks, and also recommend some best practice techniques to achieve the best possible performance overall. We used IBSurgeon services to optimize the database of our predictive dialer system running on Firebird 1.5.
