Minor bugfix release for HQbird (Firebird 5)

A bug was discovered in the previous release (October 20, 2025) of HQbird Firebird version 5.0.4.1725 that impacts large tables (over 10 million records) containing multiple small blobs (3 or more BLOBs per record).

The bug manifests as a "Warning: Blob not found" message during the gbak process.

If you have version 5.0.4.1725 installed and are encountering these messages, please contact IBSurgeon Support at [email protected].

We recommend upgrading HQbird version 5 to the bugfix release (version 5.0.4.1726).

Additional features in this release:

  • Fixed password change error for SYSDBA under FB 2.5
  • Fixed text messages about web console update requirements
  • Fixes for using database-inherited login/password parameters from server level, plus added ability to specify empty strings as login/password (values are inherited)
  • Fixed regex expression for email validation during registration
  • Adjusted trial activation message
  • Added multiple activation attempts if the first one fails (workaround for deployment center errors)
  • Reduced RAM limit from 8GB to 7GB
  • For statistics collection task, added ability to collect data via direct gstat -r call (as a "don't use service API" option)
  • Updated libraries and components
